About Siba
Globally renowned and multi-award-winning Chef Siba Mtongana is a celebrated South African chef, restaurateur, food expert, entrepreneur and author. She is also a Harvard Business School case study, recognised for her pioneering work in the culinary world. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Siba is most importantly a wife and mother of four.
As the host of the globally popular show “Siba’s Table” which airs in over 150 countries on Food Network and many other cooking channels around the globe, Siba has established a strong presence both locally and internationally. She made the cover of Forbes magazine as one of the most powerful women in Africa and the Prestigious restaurant Eat Out Awards have recently recognized her with their inaugural Trail Blazer Award.
Her fine dining restaurant, SIBA – The Restaurant, located within the prestigious 5-star Table Bay Hotel at the V&A Waterfront, has garnered numerous accolades. She has further expanded her culinary empire with the recent launch of The Siba Deli at the Time Out Market Cape Town, also located at the V&A Waterfront.
Siba’s remarkable trajectory and global impact have earned her the attention of Harvard Business School, which conducted a case study on her career, highlighting her role as a pioneering chef in Africa. This recognition places her alongside Nigella Lawson, making her one of only two chefs worldwide to be featured in such a prestigious study. Her influence extends across continents, with NTV Kenya naming her Africa’s favourite chef and Tatler Magazine in Malaysia recognising her as one of seven food goddesses from around the world, alongside culinary icons like Nigella Lawson in the UK and Rachel Ray in the US.
Throughout her career, Siba has consistently broken industry barriers, inspiring a new wave of chefs, food enthusiasts, and home cooks.
