Siba Mtongana, a passionate and dynamic food enthusiast who brought style and charisma to South Africa’s food scene, today celebrated the launch of her Sibalicious Website with brand-new, never before seen recipes.
Speaking from her studio in Cape Town, Siba says she is both thrilled and excited about her website which will give foodies locally and abroad an opportunity to keep abreast with the lasted food, décor and entertaining trends. “The website will be home to all things Sibalicious and give fans a sneak peek into my world.”
To celebrate the launch of the Sibalicious Website, Siba’s best and finest festive recipes and menus can be viewed, downloaded and, most importantly, served and shared with family and friends during the upcoming festive season. “To add zest and a little magic, I have crafted the ultimate festive season entertaining menu, with traditional as well as revamped options that includes a plant-based menu for the non-meat lovers too” says Siba.
Siba grew up in East London in a township called Mdantsane, in the Eastern Cape. Part of a big family, she is the last born of six kids out of a total of eight, with two siblings being adopted. Fondly recollecting her childhood days, Siba says she has wonderful memories of her mother cooking traditional food in their home kitchen, especially over Christmas and New Year. “Somehow even today those teachings form a firm foundation of my cooking, touching on traditional food here and there with a modern twist.”
Apart from international multi-award winning achievements, one of the biggest highlights for Siba and her company The Siba Co, was being hand-picked by the South African Presidency to direct and curate the VIP menu for the 2019 Inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa where she served 450 guests which included over 70 Heads of States, former presidents as well as kings and queens from the continent and around the world.
