Siba's tip...

I believe no smoothie should forgo greens. Leafy greens such as spinach, kale and broccoli are nature’s wonderkit – they’re filled with more fibre, minerals and vitamins than other vegetable varieties, for a fraction of the calories. Plus, they’re rich in anti-oxidants, meaning that they help keep your body at its best by repairing damage on a cellular level. A smoothie consisting only of fruits would spike both the calorie and sugar count. While the bananas, mango and coconut cream in this recipe aren’t without their nutritional merits, their main effect is to ‘sweeten the deal’ – I get a ball of nutritional benefits from my greens packaged in a delectable, lush and oh-so-appetising drink.
